Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Here in London, we keep getting heatwave after heatwave, which is unbearable and hardly any AC 🥵 🔥 Plus our houses are built to trap heat 🤭

Popped out to see some rings today to that could complement pearls, always to *compliment*! Plus the shops have AC to give me some respite 😂

Bird on Rock, Tiffany - This is their new collection. They actually missed a huge design chance to make a bird with a pearl ring!

Bees, Chaumet - Interesting they had a diamond only option which was much cheaper, it really is the death of diamonds with lab diamonds now.

It also made me think… because the whole diamond industry is obviously rather unhappy about such developments and DeBeers is even being sold as a consequence of the falling value of diamonds.

Then suddenly I started thinking, well, Mikimoto also made the natural pearl industry drastically fall back in the days, especially in Bahrain, but we wouldn’t call them synthetic pearls for example.

So do we think lab diamonds should be labelled as synthetics? Like cultured pearls, they are essentially the same product and often better quality.

Cométe, Chanel - I really like this one actually, the design complemented pearls very well and they only had this tiny size but I liked it on my pinky oddly enough!

Before heading back home, has an iced latte and couldn’t help notice how beautiful pearls look when the sunlight hits ✨

I’m late to this, but wanted to say how much I enjoyed this compendium!

I had been saying for years that Tiffany needs to make its Bird on a Rock with a Pearl, and they did just that a year or two ago! I especially love it with an egg-shaped pearl, but it might be hard to find something in the specific size that Tiffany needs.

Is the diamond Bees from Chaumet cheaper than… the Tiffany? Or a different version of the same ring? I haven’t really noticed diamond/pave versions of branded jewellery come down in price tbh.

That takes mismatched to a whole new level!

Oh I love those! That works really well.

The Chaumet bees ring that I tried with the sapphires was £14,600 and the diamond only version was cheaper, but I can’t recall how much now! The Tiffany single bird ring was £19,100

Imagine how much pearls I could buy with that!

Personally I’d never spend that much on paved jewellery, that’s plenty to buy a gorgeous single stone ring. But they are beautifully designed rings for sure!

Broke my foot. Sold my floor loom. I'm having a **** of a week. I'm trying to remember which pearls I wore, because I did wear pearls through all of it.

Ereyesterday (the day before yesterday). Dyed pearls. Necklace of dyed akoyas with vintage clasp. A gold "hanger" to add a pendant. Pendant of dyed freshwater pearls and a jade fish. Mismatched earrings of jade "windows" with dyed freshwater pearls. All from Kojima Pearl.

Yesterday. Blue baroque akoya necklace from Takahashi Pearl and Pearl Paradise. Pendant and mismatched earrings of dyed freshwater pearls from Kojima Pearl.

Are these related? Sorry about your foot. I admire you for going to the store, I'd probably just have everything delivered for a while. #lazy

Yes! I broke my foot treadling my loom. I basically caused my own stress fracture by doing the same movement over and over and over by pressing a treadle that had too much weight and too high tension. So I decided to sell the floor loom and get a different type of loom which is hand operated rather than foot operated. But I need to make sure I don't do in my hands, either.

You have amazing taste! Those bracelets etc look awesome on you!

BW, your Sea of Cortez lariat turned out amazing! What a great mix and match of pearls as it is very cohesive.

Pearls and turquoise are my two favorites and today this is a mash up of the two. The keshi and tiny turquoise are from Kojima. The other is turquoise heishi that I strung with keshis. The earrings are FWP and sleeping beauty cabachons with findings from Riogrande.View attachment 480452View attachment 480453View attachment 480454View attachment 480455View attachment 480456
