Hi there! This is my first post; I thank everyone for receiving me here. I would really appreciate that anyone could help me identify these two necklaces. The tiny pearl necklace was given to me by my father some 65 years ago (I was 5). We were living in the US then, and he had them shipped from Japan, together with a beautiful pearl necklace for my mother. The second necklace was recently bought by me at an antique shop in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I live.

As for the questions, both of them feel gritty; the diameter of the pearls is approximately 2 mm and 7 mm respectively. I was assured (they gave me a certificate) that the clasp of the one I bought was white gold, and the stone an amethyst (I'm fine if it's not - it looks awesome anyway). Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for your prompt reply, Pearl Dreams! I'm trying to muster the courage to restring the small necklace myself!

Ainhoa...if you are in the US..Get a retringing kit from Pattye on Etsy....You will love it & you can do it!

Ainhoa, I joined this group about a year ago. Testing my skills. I looked at your pics and thought Akoya. I am glad to read the threads and see that I was correct. I started knotting pearls about a year ago. Pattye is definitely a go to for beginner supplies as well as anything you need for stringing pearls! She and so many others on this site have been so helpful! I have made many sets of pearls now and absolutely love my new hobby. Give it a try. You will like it too!
