Lets all be glad the fate of the world doesn't rest on my ability to post a pic.:)

Aha! So they'd be P.Maxima pearls (South Sea) and keshi of the same...

One of the colored pearls (the round one on the right) looks pink in the picture. I wasn't aware of pink 'South Sea' pearls! Is it unusual in person, or is the picture distorting colors?

Then, a couple (towards the tip of the pen) have strong pink overtone; are these from Maxima 'South Sea' too?

Besides, the size range of the rounds seems unusual for a single type of cultured pearls. Are the smallest round keshi?

Lots of questions...

That is a distorted color. It is gold. However I have seen pink pearls in Australia. I couldn't tell you how common they are.

These are all nucleated and they all came from the same local. Just outside Broome. And I don't mind the questions. I'm captivated by pearls like the rest of you.

Can you post the link to your photo? I think the right half is missing and I'd love to see the whole thing. The pearls are marvelous. ;)

Lovely pics!

You can resize to 600 pixels ... photobucket allows you to edit the pics. Otherwise the picture just runs the text off the page.

Ah you guys will have me posting like a pro in no time.:D

Wow, I'm glad I got to see the larger photo in all its glory. Those last two pearls near the tip of the pencil are all orient! ;)

Big pictures are great... and there is a way to keep them large AND not run beyond the windows here: the 'Thumbnail for Forums' format generated at www.imageshack.us (that address provides free uploading).

Have you bought these from a specific farm? ;)

Thanks. I wish I could tell you the story behind these pearls but I promised to keep my big mouth shut. I can tell you that this particular group came from one farm outside of Broome.
I supply most of the farms in Australia with their nuclei. So I have found myself in the presence of many pearls over the years. Now that I have the time I am venturing in to the pearl end of the business. I have had direct access to pearls from a few farms for some time. But There are only so many hours in a day. But now I hope to join you happy folks in this business. As long as there is room for a newbie. I'm silly enough to believe I can open a shop. Stay tuned. Further comedy will no doubt be forth coming.:D

Hi Mikeyy,

Welcome to the fray. I am sure you will succeed in you desire for a shop or an online shop whatever it is. Do let us know because I am sure I am not the only one that wants your pearls :)

They are beautiful. Do keep us posted and more pics too. Anytime.

You are an Aussie aren't you. You sound a little like me so I am guessing you are.

Welcome, Mikeyy!

Lovely photos! I agree the two pearls near the tip of the pencil are just beautiful! I would love to hear more about the nuclei supply business (am digging deep into that corner of the business and doing some investigative journalism, well, attempting to...!)- any insights you would care to share? :D

I will tell you whatever I can about pearl nuclei. And no Bo I'm not an Aussie. I'm an honorary Aussie I am told. But I'm a Yank. I've been doing business in Australia for almost 20 years now. I reckon a bit may have rubbed off mate.

Very interesting pearls! Love the deeper colored ones especially.
Look forward to more from you!
