uodora?

Anyone purchase from Uodora? How was your experience?

Looking to purchase Tahitian strand. Either completed from online retailer OR unfinished to restring myself.

I came across Uodora. I originally wanted round Tahitians but after looking through pics, the pearls don't have to be perfect. I welcome imperfections!

What's a good budget price? I know its all subjective but those who have multiple necklaces, what price do you set for yourself?
I purchased a whole strand, and many loose pearls from uodora. They have great customer service and I strung my own Tahitians into necklace. They willl also drill or not drill as you like .

Ive bought from Uodora! You get the actual pearls in the picture, one of the few places that is like that, and they drill to your specs. They have 30 day returns, too. I haven’t returned anything, I got exactly what I ordered and have been very pleased. Ive just bought loose pearls to add to stuff, so it’s been so cool to pick out the individual pearls. If you see something you like, it’s worth ordering and then returning if you hate it.

I love getting to pick the individual pearls!

Just wanted to chime in on 7-9mm Tahitians - they’re small for T’s but I really like the ~9mm size on me! So it really depends your preference and what you think looks good on you. I’m 5ft4 and US size 4ish (I think - never bought clothes in the US before haha), and this is a great everyday size of pearl for me :)

I’ve bought from CMW before (also saw them at a trade show in HK!). I was surprised that their price at the trade show was pretty much the same as per their website (they could tell that I was a retail rather than wholesale customer) so I think their online prices are quite fair, especially if you buy when they have a sale going on.

Their customer service is great and they’re v helpful with extra photos, videos and matching.

The one negative is that I found CMW quality to be a bit mixed: a bracelet set I bought had an incredibly pitted and ugly pearl, I’m frankly shocked that it was sold as part of their “top lustre” set. The other pearls were mostly fine, just this one really stuck out. The price for ~17cm of pearls was good so I’m not complaining about the price and I didn’t need all the pearls anyway so it got chucked in the bin, but if you’re going to be needing all the pearls, ask to see 360s of the worst pearls in a strand.

Also, bear in mind that bracelet pearls will be seen by YOU! And you’re physically closer to your pearls than everyone else, plus you’re more likely to inspect them…!

(I should’ve taken a photo of the ugly pearl but it’s long gone. It was really really really bad)

I think 7-9mm is a good size as that’s what my mikis are. My MIL has one too and every time she wears them I ask her if she got a new necklace bc the pearls look bigger. But she always says the same thing, “it’s the one you bought me, silly”.

Now I know T’s come in larger sizes and it’s better to wait for the right one. Every chance I see one in store I will surely try em one to see what size best suits me.

It’s not crazy high-quality for the saltwater pearls but really interesting ones at affordable prices. Fun individual Edison’s too. I’ll be able to put together a bracelet for $200 of interesting Tahitians, which is a fun project.
When u do, plse share photos

@Pearl Dreams on FB marketplace. Seen this vendor’s name mentioned here. Been on the website, so pricey. Browsed marketplace and this popped up.

Just thought I’d share lol. Not looking to buy this. Out of my price range

I will! I’m trying to decide how many more pearls vs gold beads.

I also have a strand of 8 mm Tahitians, fully round and love them. They’re so wearable! It’s a great size, so if that’s what you’re considering, it is nice.
Some buy pearls at a time? Is that more expensive in the long run? Maybe I’ll start off with a bracelet

It is less expensive than plain retail. BUT I buy gold clasps and stuff off goodwill, particularly the faux Pearl strands (which 50% of the time are vintage akoyas and not fake), so I get clasps for $30 all-in. That’s a tremendous savings. If you are not in a rush and cost is your main factor, goodwill’s website is your best bet. I’ve bought some crazy stuff on there for cheap, but you’ve got to be ok with some risk that maybe it’s not what you thought, theres no returns and comfortable judging photos. lol, gambling basically.

Kamoka has lovely pearls, and they run a sustainable farm. Kudos to them!
Like many vendors they use studio lighting / light box which shows the overtone colors more vividly than you are likely to see in ordinary light. I have some Kamoka pieces; I like some more than others.

Buying enough pearls to make a strand one at a time is likely to cost more than buying a strand, and they are less likely to match well.

I bought 2 fireball FW off of etsy from uodora. One strand was $70 cheaper on etsy than their actual website.

The first pic is more “flat”. When they arrive I may need help deciding which to keep.

I want to do a mix metal necklace. Half pearl and half chain
