My BBAs (blue baroque akoyas) just arrived. The pair is Erotochromatic!! Is that the right word, Douglas? I keep wanting to call them Erectochromatic, but that sounds too sexy. Look at that hammered surface! They're 10-11 mm and rather button shaped, so they'll sit flat to the ear. I've asked for really large earring push backs.

The BBBA strand (BIG blue baroque akoya) is a good match to my 9mm Vietnamese baroque akoya strand. My necklace is strung to 17 inches, so if PP strings the new one to 18-19 inches with a big orbit clasp, I think both necklaces will nest nicely. My strand is strung on Pattye's "SKY" colored thread, so I've asked for the same thread for the new necklace.

I am not certain, but have been told that many special blues come from Tsushima. That's probably where they came from. There were from the brother of the gentleman you met in Kobe who had all the special tiny akoya strands.
