I can think of no other word to describe the wonderful strand anchored by the mermaid and octo baby...Sheri did an AMAZING job on this clasp. It is so sculptural and unique. I am still experimenting with connection to the strand (strung on wire w/bumpers, currently) and I like the jump ring and black gimp cover combo (octo side) vs. the bare wire and jump ring side (mermaid). This isn't final, but I just had to share! I love this clasp, and really Sheri, your work is stunning. Thank you!! IMG_3862.jpgIMG_3866.jpgIMG_3867.jpg

That is such a conversation piece!! You are sure to get compliments on it.

I was wondering what it would look like -- this is outstanding! I like the black for contrast.

I made the clasp so it could be multi-directional...I was thinking the octo tentacle would hook through the mermaid's clasped hands, but I see he is equally happy frolicking from her tail! These cephalopods can be quite mischievous...

The clasp looks great with your luscious pearls, JP. Glad to see your quahog octo has already been out and about, too!

I love that, JP and Sheri! Very gorgeous. You'll have so much fun finding different ways to wear it.

I like the black gim better, too, it looks more finished.

The clasp is truly a work of art! Sheri, I played with the positioning on the mermaid and octo baby...because this strand is LONG, I wanted the ability to have both ends dangle from a knotted look. In other words, I wanted the mermaid to face upright when worn with the clasp "open" but the strand knotted. I can also loop her hands over the octobaby so that she dangles from him like a pendant.

The gimp is from Pattye, and I too love the black. It works really well against darker tahitians.

Wow!! That's definitely going to get some interest from people!

Woah. Stunning piece. You are going to be having so much fun wearing and fiddling :)

That's a great idea, JP - I'm glad I made the clasp multi-directional; opens up all sorts of possibilities!

What a fun Piece! Excellent conversation starter for sure. LOVE it!!!

Cheers!
