This was a commissioned piece that came out amazingly well so I thought I would share. It reminds me of a necklace you would see on old royalty.

not much room for a neck under that !!!!

unbelieveable

Glad you like;)

It is designed so that there are two necklace that can be worn as a three-strand or a six-strand necklace. But I think the six-strand, although not the most wearable, looks amazing.

well, you would have a very LONG neck....LoL.....;)

It looks amazing - and heavy. Perfect for a night at the opera :)

La boh?me

and then Douglas could come too!!

That looks utterly lovely! You must be well chuffed, Jeremy.

How long is each strand?

It must be quite heavy to wear - not one to chuck on if you're nipping out for a pint of milk.

The strands are nested, and the longest strand is about 23 inches. That would make the shortest strand around 16 inches. Yes, it's a heavy piece. But it sure will be a head-turner!

I would say it will 'frighten the horses'

or in today's terms - 'cause a traffic accident'

what a necklace !!

What a lovely necklace and very dramatic- perfect for the opera and other equally dramatic outings. It's always a pleasure to see the outstanding pearls and/or designs, this one has both.

Was this constructed to be sometimes worn as separate necklace or other configurations, 2 - 3 strands?

May I ask why the client requested tahitian vs white ss, etc? I would also love to see the dress that would be worn with these pearls.

Quite impressive indeed! This one is meant to be modeled. What is the size range of the pearls? Do I see bigger pearls in the fifth strand (counting from the shorter strand)? Curious to know more about the process to pick and place the pearls in such a magnificent piece: according to color, size?

There is another one for the same commission that I just finished drilling today. I had it finished earlier in the week, but it didn't nest the way we wanted it to so it was back to the drawing board today. The pearls are baroque (circled baroque) white South Sea, 15 to just under 20 mm, nested double. It is going to be even heavier than the Tahitian!

Pictures to come!

The fifth strand is larger, actually. That was also by intention. Overall, the pearls range from about 8 mm to 11 mm. The arrangement of size and color was all about going for a very specific look and design. I am just responsible for the matching and drilling, so I just do what I'm told;)

How much does the whole necklace (all 6 strands) weigh?

I am not sure, actually. I would have to go back and put them on a scale. It is ready to go to New York for a preview event now, so I might not have it in my hands again for a couple of weeks.
