My first Tahitian pearls, from Kojima Pearl. I lost one of the sapphires in the vintage white gold clasp years ago. I finally got around to getting it fixed. It cost me a whopping $25. I should have gotten it fixed years ago. It was the clasp that prompted me buy the strand of pearls. I love a unique clasp.

Pajama pearls. Who says you have to dress up to wear pearls? Freshwater pearls from Kojima. All natural colors.

The pendant was a dark, intense, chocolate plum color when I bought it. It's now a pale lavender with a pistachio green overtone. I really like it, but it really faded. Long ombre' keshi strand worn double, with a matching tin-cup necklace and earrings.

OOOOO, look just arrived. Sun and Moon 10.5 mm dark blue and pistachio Tahitian studs from Kamoka. Love the new box. There's a magnet in the lid to keep it closed. I think 10.5 mm might be my limit on stud size.

And a Tahitian ring so not me, it's gone around the bend and became me. From OceanRhyme. I'm amazed it actually fits on my middle finger, because I have huge knuckles and normally need a size 9 ring on my ring finger, and my middle finger is even bigger. The ring is an 8 1/2 and has room to spare because of the large hollow area under the top of the ring.

I'm trying to get better about mixing and matching my pearls. Golden South Sea keshi and tourmalines from Hisano. Sun and Moon Tahitian studs from Kamoka. The pearls are much brighter in real life.

And it wasn’t just one!

Bunny was too busy enjoying the snacks. Note the cute deer on the paper wrapper. We are on Miyajima Island where the deer are plentiful and roam freely. They follow you like little dogs and especially are interested if you have food.

Visiting Dad today. Judy Jetson necklace with a freshwater button pearl and druzy quartz. Trying to decide which earrings to wear. I usually wear the Mikimoto huggies, but I think today I'll go with the white and gold South Sea and mismatched Tahitian pearls from OceanRhyme. I'll probably wear my new Tahitian ring, too.

New "throw them over the head and wear with jeans" pearls from Kojima. Dyed freshwaters and various gemstones that really glow in sunlight. I'm in love with this strand. I've been dithering over it for ages.

I knew my Traveling Bunnies were from Japan, but how fun to stumble across its origins. They are a handicraft of Kyoto and I was right at the source. Every time I travel through Japan, I learn more about the regional specialties in food, crafts, culture.

I'm heading back to Japan in November. One of my weaving friends is leading a tour of textiles in Okinawa. I'm going to keep my eye out for bunnies.
