My pearls

SydK funny about that bracelet from Cmw it was my third “last pearl purchase of the year”! I will be good now...Happy to show it to you when it finally gets to me...
Charlotta I find the same thing - when I work with little gemstones my eyes cant take it for too long, but knotting is absolutely no problem! You can try eye-yoga for the eyes, it really helps me, I do it a few times everyday.

Eye yoga is really simple. Here is on of the links I found ( I dont remember the original one I followed maybe 6 years ago when I started). From the link I usually do the palming, eye rolling, figure of 8, not so much zooming...Few times a day when I remember.

Another very useful exercise for the eyes is the one a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine taught me (my friend has a TCM clinic and they have great results with this exercise). This is done with eyes closed - so close your eyes and move them slowly making a circle from the left to the right, you should move really slow to make the circle in 15-20 seconds, the slower the better. Make 40 circles in onee direction and then change the direction and make another 40 circles. This is harder than eye yoga, it takes more time, you can start with 20 circles first..But your eyes will definitely be grateful!

Hope these will work for you!

It has been snowing today like you couldn't believe and I finally found a use for all that snow. At least whilst it's snowing. The light was perfect for pearl photography, even at home on the worn down window sill. So my latest wirewrapped necklaces. Both with those big green tahitian drop pearls from cmw pearls. The green one also has tourmalines and peridots from Druzydesign and I added some carved moldavites as well. The blue one has neon blue apatites and one small color less tourmaline (the charm at the back).

Happy to hear eye yoga helped! It really is such a simple routine that can make a big difference!

Beautiful pieces Charlotta! You do such a great job at capturing the beauty of those pearls!

Hi Charlotta

I’m so happy I found this thread! I’ve spent days just going through it... it’s been my super happy place! Thank you immensely for the time you’ve dedicated to it, your pictures of your beauties leave me speechless. Here’s to a million more pictures from you (please) long may this thread thrive!

Thank you moonpie. I am glad that my tread is your happy place. Taking pearl photos and remaking pearls is my happy place. I will definitely post more.

So I wanted an ombre south sea and tahitian rope and went through my leftover pile, boring, then my jewelry box. I thought that I wanted a circled one then changed my mind when my eyes fell on the big multicolored tahitian strand from Pearlescence and my mixed white and golden south sea strand (Pearlescence and Kongspearl). Poor strands...victime of my scissors. I have thought of making a ombre strand of those big tahitians before since there are so many colors. I had a delightful hour rearranging them by the window. The overtones made it difficult with some pearls. I made it endless and totally disregarded the size difference, giving it a soft wave effect.

Unfortunately no snowfall today, so the photos aren't as good. Love those blue colors. The pearls are about 9,5-12mm but mostly around 11-12mm and the rope is 34 inches

Mesmerizing ombre rope, Charlotta. Such a feast for the eyes

Thank you Pareltje. I was going to show you all those photos of my blue tahitians when I got sidetracked. Here they are now. My precious blue tahitian strand from Pearlescence, my blue tahitian bracelet and silver blue studs from cmw pearls. Wendy told me she found those blue tahitians in a box with green pearls in Hongkong, about two years ago. It's such a wonderful strand an apparantly hard to find again.

Ombre silver blue to blue purple tahitian rope from cmw pearls. I made that one out of 4 bracelets.

Then I have the blue green waverope with vintage akoyas. Sometimes those pearls looks blue. The blue green tahitians are from cmw pearls.

And of course my ombre tahitian rope from Cees have a blue side...
_20201101_214424.jpg
With some imagination at least. The other side isn't blue at all
_20201101_214507.jpg
And that wirewrapped necklace K made with neon blue apatites and tahitians, those pearls looks blue, in that necklace at least.
_20210217_112700.jpg
Then I have some blue south sea pearls and akoyas as well. But that's for another day.
