  • These goldens are mouthwatering. Did I see orient?

    Comment

    • Thank you StarryPearl, overtones or orient. Sometimes I'm not sure. I was delighted when I got these, they were so much prettier in real life than in Druzydesigns photos and her photos are good.

      Comment

      • Yup! There is orient in them pearls!
I usually can distinguish overtones better if I use the "water test" on pearls. If I see clearly defined concentric rings of color on the pearl I say Overtones...if just intense iridescence I will call it Orient.
But you may indeed have both there!

ID:	451742 After making my ombre ombre strand with pearls from Pearlescence and Druzydesign I had a lot of darker pearls leftover, since I basically took all light, blue and green ones. Lots of peacocks as well. I did remake those small tahitians from Druzydesign into a strand, but well it needed something. I tried a layout of white south sea pearls, making a bracelet, then I tried a randomly placed layout of mixed sizes roundish pearls. It's dark but the mixed sizes makes it interesting to look at. It's very different from both the ombre ombre strand and my mixed sizes tahitian rope.

                      • I love the different sizes of the pearls in Dark Blob. It reminds me of my new Tahitian strand. There's something about mixed sizes of pearls that really appeals to me.

                        Erotochromatic!

Douglas, we need a definition. I know colorful, but I feel there's more to it than that.

                        • Thank you Bweaves, those mixes sizes appeal to me as well. Don't know why really. Maybe it's because the eyes have something to focus on, something different. In a strand with pearls of roughly the same size and color you don't see the individually pearls as much as the strand as a whole.

                          • I recently retook the photos of my earrings, since I deleted them all by mistake in april last year and therefore thought that I had a lot of good photos of them when I infact didn't. First tahitians, there are many of those. The list appears to be endless and then I have given away some and I know there are more that I don't use in a box for the childen to pick from when we can meet indoors again. First and in no particular order the shepherds hooks earrings Pearlescence made with a tiny white freshwater pearl instead of the Blob and some silvery green Robert Wan tahitians.

Them they were studs for a while. I prefer them like this.

ID:	451865 And my peachy pink freshwater huggies, the pearls are from Pearllunar, who don't exist on ebay or etsy anymore. Those stores had the biggest selection of colors and different overtones in freshwater pearls. I did for example get a blue lavender freshwater strand that I gave my daughter. I haven't got a photo of that one left.
