Article's a week old:

I watched the news segment on this. They had an 'expert' there, looking at the pearl through a loupe. I thought that was a bit odd.....how can you find out anything substantial about a pearl through a loupe? The metal of the earring sure, but my understanding was that to date or find anything about a pearl you'd have to slice it or put it under an x-ray. Tbh the expert looked like he had no idea what he was doing there! He just said yeah sure it could've been hers.
Am I wrong in thinking this?
