They look like dyed freshwater pearls to me, too.

No, I don't see blue or purple. They are just deep gray, almost black gray. I am adding photos under the cold led light.

I'm seeing deep tones of purple/blue more than anything else, which indicates to me dyed freshwater. Would you agree, MrGray?
