You are correct - they are dyed CFW pearls. See how flat the colour is with no overtones and also the nature of the imperfections on the pearls indicate that they are freshwater.
Hi, Pella. Thank you. I peruse these ID posts for purposes of educating myself through all the expert responses here. Since all pearls can have imperfections, what is it about these particular imperfections that indicate freshwater?
Look thru the ID pearls...and you will see lots of FW...but what I find more helpful is looking at Chinese Pearl sellers on EBay..... You will be shocked at how many potato freshwaters (Dyed or white) are listed as Tahitians or South Seas! Most are Not even as close as yours! The Akoya listings are almost as bad! But it was super helpful to me to ID from photos!
