Hi all,

Hi everyone! I’ve finally taken the leap into the world of dark pearls with my very first Tahitian pendant. Since I’m a total newcomer to Tahitians, I’d love to tap into the collective wisdom here.

From these seller photos, what are your first impressions of the surface quality and overtones? I’m eagerly awaiting the shipment, but I’m dying to know if you think this was a solid first "catch." Any insights on what to look for once it’s in my hands would be amazing!

This one is originally purchased from a French jewelry store back in 2006, so to see from the invoice the seller showed me. The seller has been incredibly meticulous and careful with the piece and the paper, which gives me a good feeling that she may also take good care of the pearl. In the invoice there is no info about pearl size...

I’ll be sure to post high-res "neck shots" and natural light photos once it arrives, but for now, what do you think of this beauty?

The surface looks smooth and reflective. It's difficult to judge tones -- a good pearl will reflect the colors around it and there's only one photo against white paper. I'm curious about size. Please let us know what you think when you receive it, and I hope you love it! A first Tahitian is a treasure.

So I've got it here. Some photos indoor lighting. I'm curious how you find it. from top down and in strong light I see peacock. Poor light bottom up I see boring black 😅 Is this normal? Looking at myself in the mirror in strong spotlight I find it quite beautiful. Size is definitely wearable as daily accessory.

Thank you pattye for chiming in. I have just cleaned it quickly and spent some time to appreciate it. Enjoy this little thing and sharing more pix with you guys. It's at least 20 years old and still looks smart.

I like to look at Tahitians on rainy days. There's something about the moisture and diffused lighting that helps bring out overtones.
I'm glad you like the pendant, and I agree that it is very wearable. You may reach for it more often than you expect.
