Definitely looks like a fish! but like a dead skinned fish to me.. I would find great difficulty in setting it because of that :( fabulous find though, of course! from a pearl-addicted non-consumer point of view :) :)

Set it with a gold hook in its mouth and use it as a pendant. Some fisherman will love it.

Wow. It even has a face and mouth etc!.

That is pretty awesome!

I'm amazed by some designer's ideas with pearls. Sheri's mermaid with pearl bust and bum is one for instance. I bet this could come to life with a fantastic outcome if someone had some imagination with it. How fun that it's natural too.

It's remarkable how much like a fish that pearl looks. I showed the image to my Uncle, who's favorite pastime is fishing, he thought it was pretty cool too.

a nice concidence of the Nature
GIA report
This unique pearl in the form of a little fish may seem cultured …
or sculpted ... or fossilized ...
But the truh is that just a natural pearl in the form of a fish…

a true miracle of Nature.

see Gem & Gemology Fall 2017
with a lab. note about the natural Fish-pearl.
