My Dad's pearl

Hello,
Wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of pearl this is.
Men's tie pin, purchased by my mother for my father in 1964-65, in a jewelry store in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Photo show colour very well, silver-blue. Sorry didn't measure, around 10mm, maybe a little more.
It is beautiful!

That's a beauty! From the size and coloration it looks like a natural color akoya pearl. Can you please show a photo of it from the side (profile) and back also?

I would love to send more photos, but I took these photos this summer on the west coast and I am on the east coast. I didn't think to take back or side photos. Here is one more.

The reason I asked was to confirm the bulbous part appears rounded from the back also, like it would have a bead inside as is customary with cultured akoya pearls~do you recall? It looks like it from the enlarged photo. First one I've seen as a tie tac.
