Haha. I've had that happen a lot to me, too.

A friend admired the two strands I was wearing, and I decided it was time for a little education. I explained how my rope were natural white Hanadama akoya pearls and my princess length strand were Freshadamas / gem grade freshwater pearls. She said the Hanadamas looked fake and the freshies looked real, because she was used to bead store "beads."

Lets face it....most people don't know anything about pearls and don't care about them. We are in a little Pearly World here at PGF ... thank god we have each other lol

The calming power of pearls.

I was once showing at a pretty decent show when a lady referred to my display - filled with silver, gold, stones and pearls - as "costume jewelry". I saw red at that point.
