Here's an interesting development in pearl culturing I thought I'd point out. Gemstone nucleated, carved pearls. This is a picture of a black pearl (a Tahitian pearl, but not since it was cultured in Vietnam I believe). The stone in the center is a turquoise. They do this with citrine also.
