Could these be real

I bought a box of jewelry at an estate sale and it turned out there were some high quality pieces in the box. I am curious about this necklace The large round button look piece is marked Japan the latch slides out of the side of it. The "pearls are cold to touch and stay cool. They are smooth and even sized and colored. They are strung on string that is connected to a metal end then attached to the locking pieces

They appear to be imitation pearls.
