I am interested in some more information on this pearl necklace I inherited from my Japanese mother in law. They were in a Mikimoto box but do not have that stamp. From the appraisal I received:-
The Akoya cultured pearl necklace consists of 101 pearls graduating in size from 7.3mm to 3.3mm. The necklace is strung without knots on a sterling silver clasp with a single 3x3.5mm cultured pearl and measures approximately 18" in length.

Color: White with a slight pink undertone
Color matching: Excellent
Roundness: Excellent
Nacre thickness: Excellent
Nacre evenness: No bumps, spots or blemishes
Overall quality of necklace (scale 1 to 10): 9.5
Comments: Excellent necklace with top quality pearls.

It is not possible to get more information than that 😀
It is a nice little postwar japanese akoya pearl necklace. It needs maintenance. If you plan to wear it, please consider washing and restringing it. With knots between each pearl (which I personally prefer, no matter how big or little the pearl is), it will get longer.
Clasp is really beautiful, and it can also be polished.
Best thing is that all of that you can do by yourself.
Regards
