    abalone pearl

Yes, the price was very low but I was thinking that maybe it's cracked or crumbling in places. I was hoping to buoy up those areas with a clear polyurethane or something. I don't know if this is a thing that can be done. It is drilled as a pendant and quite large at 38mx X 25mm.

    abalone pearl

Hi! Once again I took a chance on an abalone pearl. The two I have previously purchased have been very lovely but each broke apart after wearing a few times as they were thin and hollow. I spotted this one last night and bought it right away for $30, as it seems to be largely intact and weighs 7...

Hello, I found this piece inside an oyster. Is it possible to know the type and value?

Yes, it is quite cracked and fell apart after wearing it a couple of times. So, I pulled it apart and removed all the rotted out filler. It is a true abalone as the colors within the base and the blister itself were mottled with fabulous color. I refilled the blister and pieced together what I...

What kind of freshwater pearls are these?

I found these pearls in a junk shop for $2.00, so I couldn't leave them there. They are real and perfectly matched--8 feet of them! The pearls are a little ovoid in shape and are about 2mm by 3mm. They are not knotted. What do you think? What should I do with then? 12wentworth

Here are some more photos after I have cleaned the pearl some more. I think it looks like a cala lily!

I've obviously posted incorrectly, a former picture of a freshwater pearl. The first photo is of the back of the piece I am trying to upload. Hold on.

    Abalone blister pearl all along

Hi Everyone! Judy here I think I have been in possession of an abalone blister pearl all along and didn't realize it. I came across a find, a piece of an abalone shell with what looked to be a long lump under a crusty yellow skin. So, I buffed out what I could and this is what I came up with...

    abalone pearl?

Hi, Judy here, Okay, here is the piece I mentioned: https://www.etsy.com/listing/675288146/wire-wrapped-natural-abalone-pearl?ref=cart It looks rough-hewn, so it is probably a blister pearl cut out of the shell? Thanks for any advice!
