Looking for flameballs

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie hoping to get some help. I've been drooling over the pictures of flameball pearls here and am looking for a multicolor strand of pinks and mauves. I'm not having any luck finding any. Anyone have an idea where to look? I'm also looking for a nice size SS keshi too if anyone knows where I could get one.

Any help is much appreciated.

I hey Mrsz welcome to the forum. I think you mean fireballs not flameballs and they are form of chinese freshwater pearls. I can't recommend a source but others might be able to.

You might want to check out Carolyn Ehret's ebay site; her seller name is druzydesign. She currently has a very pretty FW strand listed in mixed colors and shapes, including some flameballs. We can all vouch for the quality of her merchandise.

Rainbowislandpearls is another good ebay seller, and they currently have some flameballs listed, but not currently in the colors you're seeking.

Good luck!

Sheri

Fireball and flameball are the same thing no? I was looking for something like the second strand from the top of this picture (from Pacific Pearls who does not appear to have an online retail store).

yes mrsz, and welcome. flameballs and fireballs are just different names given to bead nucleated Chinese freshwater pearls.. they will disappear as the Chinese improve their technique to grow nucleated pearls. You can read a little about them in two current threads here - Freshwater vs Saltwater.... the latter part of the thread, and a little in the Natural Pearls thread that is active at the moment... again, just the part at the end.

Beautiful and unique looking pearls, and the natural coloured strands are quite beautiful, with often quite a metallic lustre. Good luck!

MRSZ, Hello and welcome the pearl vocabulary debate. The photo you have posted, is our latest from our family company Pacific Pearls. I like to tell people that we have a parent company (Pacific Pearls) and kid company (Kojima). I handle the natural pearls, the Tahitian and South Sea, as well as the on line sales. Pacific Pearls sells both Chinese and Japanese pearls. We work and eat together, so you can access more photos and information about what we do as a family company at http://www.pacificpearls.us/
or let me know if you have any more questions about these unique flaming fireball pearls. He he.
I just landed in Hong Kong for the upcoming show, looking forward to all the new products and pearly adventures.
Thanks, Sarah

Sarah, just had to say "hi" and tell you how jealous I am...can't wait to see what treasures you score at the show!

Have fun (and give a hug to Allison for me!) -

Sheri, I will surely give Allison a hug for you, I can't wait to see her! Josh and Juliette arrive this evening, and I am looking forward to the pearly reunion of my many friends. Hope to see you and your tattoo in person at the next San Mateo show, second weekend in April! Be well and enjoy!

Hi Sarah, actually I've purchased a kasumi from you in the past. I thought Pacific Pearls only sold wholesale but I emailed them anyway and just received a response back. In this case, I'm glad I was wrong.

Oh to be in your shoes.....love to hear if you find anything interesting in HK. And if you happen across a big white SS keshi with nice rainbow orient......I just might have a spot for it.;)

San Mateo in April - hmmmm, that one might be in my range. Is it a good one? Who else will be there? My brother lives in Oakland.

Waimeamomi, The San Mateo show (Intergem),during the second weekend in April. (although it is held 4 times a year) Is not what I would call an "elegant" show. It is held at the county fair grounds. There are probably a thousand dealers of gems, beads, pearls and jewelry. (ofcourse there are also a few people selling toys, and shawls and bejeweled crocodiles and the like). It is a very popular show in the San Francisco Bay area, drawing many thousands of buyers from all over the states. There is a huge retail section, and a modest wholesale section, for which proper tax paperwork and business cards are required for entry. We as Pacific Pearls have exhibited in this venue for whoosh almost 15 years, and have developed a very loyal and sweet following of customers and friends. It is always a pleasure to check in with them on a some what seasonal basis. I did the show at the Blaisdale Center in Honolulu for years, and I am sure you would not be disappointed if you were to make the trip. I live in Oakland as well, and I would be happy to give you a ride to the show. We can talk about pearls all the way I promise!
Aloha from Hong Kong. Off to meet customers and friends, happy to be here!
Cheers, Sarah
