Hi, can you help me to identify my pearl necklace? Is it real pearl? If it is real, is it from Japan? There is no marker, clap was replaced. The size is small but I like them so much. Thanks

These are Chinese freshwater pearls. They are solid nacre-- there is no bead insde to make them round.
Thanks so much. I have another broken pearl bracelet. I should restring it or not? I think it is very old.

These appear to be some of the earlier Chinese bead nucleated pearls, from around 2010 or so.
If you wish to wear them, then yes, you should restring them. But you don't have to pay someone to do that-- that can be expensive. You can restring them yourself. Many of us do-- it isn't hard. If you can make overhand knots, you can do it.

Hi Pearl Dreams. I know the pictures are not the best but I think these could be poorer quality baroque Akoya pearls - some of the pearls look to have had little tails which have been squared off. You can just see the tapering at the ends of some of the pearls.

I could of course also be wrong. Love your work.

Yes, I see it now. Baroque akoyas.
Cataract surgery can't come soon enough! One very blurry eye. December.

I like baroque Akoyas, and although these aren't the best quality I think you should restring them. Although, it seems like a lot of pearls for a bracelet, are you sure it's not a necklace?

Hi, yes, it is a necklace, the clasp is broken and I and my daughter will do a small project for restring it.

Hello, lovely people!
I have recently bought 4 strands of pearls and I would like to get your expert opinion, please, on what type of pearls they are. Bought them as a lot, from internet from a lady who was selling lots of pearl strands and other jewellery but didn't offer to much info on them.
One of them is quite short, 33 cm, more suitable for a child. Please see pics, ( the best I could take). The size of the pearl is 4-5 mm, their shape is mostly round, with some with little horns or a bit longer than others. The clasp is marked with 375.
Please let me know you views.
It is OK if you agree that they might be fake pearls 😄.

Hello again!
As promised, here are pictures with the other three pearl strands. I would like to thank you again for your help and kindly ask for your views on them.
All three have gold clasps marked 375.

This is the first strand, the clasp is oval, clam like shape with little white stones.

The second, is a double strand pearl necklace with a rectangle engraved clasp marked 375. The pearls are less round but whiter than the first strand posted today. Please see below the pics.

The last strand, has larger pearls than the previous two and whiter than the second strand. The clasp is small in a shape of a little barrel marked 375.

What type of pearls they are? Many thanks in advance for your insights.

Akoyas but the nacre is thin and missing in some places.

Thank you very much🙏 for your view. That is such great news as I bought them as being simulated pearls but I liked the shapes of the clasps, not knowing they are made of weak gold.
My favourite is the second strand, the double pearl strand that has many little markings on the engraved clasp. I look forward to hear your verdict on that one too, please.
