Cortez Pearl Necklace

This is a nice necklace that my associate Manuel Nava finished just a week ago. Fashioned using only near-rounds in sizes between 8 and 8.5 mm.
The coppery-purple colors look incredible when worn...necklaces are made to be worn, not to sit on a case...a woman's beauty just increases when wearing a gorgeous pearl necklace.

These are just a couple of closer view shots.
Sorry about my low Photoshop skills...tried cleaning up and graying up her skin to make the colors easier to see, but ended up "busting" some pearls with the "Magic Wand".

Douglas,

BEAUTIFUL pearls. On my screen they do look bluish more than brown. What is their exact colouring?

Hi Douglas,

Superb!! Will necklaces be available in the jewelry shop when I come down in February? :D That is a wonderful, versatile length. I am totally happy with all baroques, too!

so many pearls, so little time

It is a multi-colored strand, like most of the ones we have produced...so colors alternate. Most have a gray body color (from light to dark), other pearls are "cocoa" (the "coppery" color some call "chocolate"), others are "black". Overtone variation is pink, green, golden, purple, blue and violet.
The overall look of the necklace's color is "coppery", but color perception will vary during the day and according to light sources. Haven't seen it at night...but I don't think Rocio's husband would be too willing to lend her to me for a photo session. ;)

Hi Pattye,

I hope so...right now we have one strand for sale, but customers will start arriving next week: demand is always higher than availability.

Now I know why you have twins!

As for that gorgeous necklace! Wow Wow Wow! Just amazing! Pattye LOL you were the first one I thought of when I saw that!

That long and gorgeous strand is just killing me with its beauty! All I want is a measly 15 inch choker to match some earrings I have---sigh. These pearls have to be seen in person to really appreciate their unusual body colour and wild overtones. I was blown away when I first saw a Sea of Cortez pearl.

Here's one of mine.
I can't begin to describe how beautiful it is.
And the colours, well, they're amazing....

And all I want is a pair of earrings! :p (well, okay, I want more, MORE, MORE! but the earrings would be a start). I actually just purchased my first Cortez pearl from Care Ehret a few days ago - I can't wait to see it in person!

Sure can...please send me a Private Message via this forum with your personal e-mail and we'll take it from there. The other possibility is to try Carolyn Ehret in Tucson...she and her husband Peter just bought a fabulous big lot of our 2007 harvest, including some tremendously amazing blues and aubergines...they have been doing really well with our pearls.:D

Did you all notice the Sea of Cortez keishi bracelet she has listed? I have one pair of Sea of Cortez earrings and they get a lot of attention. I can't imagine what a bracelet or necklace would be like. :)

We had a European customer that called us some months ago...she wanted just to share her "experience" with us: she was on a train trip in Germany when some 6 people approached her to ask her about her necklace.
She said that they were in a debate over her necklace: some tought it was a pearl necklace, but unlike any they had seen...others tought it was a "new stone" so they had to approach her and ask her. I guess they were truly curious about the way the strand looked :D

All pearl necklaces are beautiful...but these are just different, they are alive. Sorry about my modesty  but one has to see the necklace in person in order to fully appreciate its beauty.

Carolyn has a very good lot of pearls from this year's harvest...and this year they bought more of the higher grades than ever. I am anxious to see how some of the "biggies" (12mm+) she purchased will end up! And she said she will produce many bracelets and at least one "Special Order Necklace". :D
