Hi

I am a newbie to pearls, It all started when I was out to get my mum a pearl ring (replacement) I discovered that pearls come in all shapes, sizes and colours. I guess like everyone who knows the next stage is addiction.

I would very much like to go round hunting for loose pearls that catches my fancy before going to my jeweller to get it set. I felt that this process is much more appealing, interesting and fun for me rather than go to a jewellery shop to buy a ready made piece of jewellery.

I would appreciate greatly if anyone who know where I could go in Singapore or around the south east asia to get loose pearls. You can private message too.

Ps: I am still searching for a southsea white pearl with a pinkish tone for my mum. While I myself is interested in southsea or taihitian keshi/ baroque pearls

Hi elfstone,

Don't buy pearls in Singapore. They are priced base on retail and the choices are limited, although there's a jewellery fair in Singapore this August.

You can go to the jewellery fair in HK as well this June or fly to Greenhills in Manila anytime.

Goodluck!:)

If i can't differentiate a south sea or a taihitian from a dye fresh water pearl that maybe a problem. Perhaps a reputable seller or shop can be recommended via private emailing

Cheers

Benjamin
