My freshwater pearl drops from China!

Lovely! They look wonderful. And at a great price. Enjoy those pearls

Wen has been a great source for inexpensive pearls...they were my practice drilling pieces IMG_3455.jpg

Lovely on you Katalin. And they look much more than what you paid.

JerseyPearl - great idea! I want to learn to knot and drill too!

Here is my inexpensive freshwater from Wen. It was a long necklace which I never wore. Finally ordered from Pattye and restrung into 1 short necklace, 1 endless strand for my mum (no pic it's with her) and a simple bar necklace. There was 1 really nice pearl which I liked and its the center pearl on the bar necklace.
I restrung using topaz and I love how it brings out the blue. And its so nice and easy to use beaders secret.PhotoGrid_1467352665361.jpg

Ladies, thank you for your pictures!
Kalmen 22 - the bar necklace is really nice, and the center Pearl is just incredible shiny, and lustrous. I don't wonder, that it was your favourite one!
Jersey Pearl - thank you for your pictures. I'm admiring your creations for a long time. The tin cup gets a lot of wear, I guess. Drilling I don't even think to try myself, but knotting definitely. I just need a few days in a week with 36 hours! :)

Thanks Katalin. This particular piece went to live with a friend of mine. Personally, I prefer to work with Tahitians, but this was a fun little project made with "disposable" pearls! I used to think I would never drill a pearl...

Kalmen, your reworks are wonderful! I love the bar.

Thanks JP. Your pieces constantly amaze me. And itsfun to create. Helps me to destress

BTW Wen restocked the drop pearls if anyone is interested. I decided to buy a couple and do a rope for mum. I'll update when it arrives

Kalmen22 - I asked Wen also, if she is going to have this pearls, because I also want to order them for my mother! Funny, that you had the same plans! She just wrote me yesterday, that she has them listed once more. BTW, I bought some other pearls from her, which were beautiful. I already gave them to my mum.

These pearls are 6-7 * 7-8 mm, but they seem to glow on her neck, and therefore they seem bigger! I've just told her, I'm tempted to order for myself also! :) Pearls are just addicting!

As I already wrote I ordered some GSSP from Wen. They arrived a few days ago. I know, a lot of members here have beautiful GSSP here but I thought I still post a picture, maybe someone is interested.
So, I ordered a strand with 9-10.4 mm pearls, light color. The pearls are not smooth but I still like them. For the price what I paid it was ok. So without further info here a neckshot:

Katalin how lovely those freshwater drops look wonderful on mum. Peach is a killer color for me. Blends into my skin.
The gssp has a nice buttery feel.

Katbran thank u. I'm wearing them so much more after the rework. Yeah

My experience with Wen is hit or miss. I've ordered twice and both times, I was happy with most of the items but there were a few things I was not happy with, but she worked with me. One of my complaints was I ordered two single pearls on cards. From the different shots posted, I figured I was getting a relatively clean pearl, but both came with outies on them (not sure how else to explain the big bump) that were not seen in the photos. Another time, I ordered a strand of 22 odd shaped pearls and the nacre was not complete on 8 different pearls, so she offered me a partial refund, but I asked her to send me 8 pearls, which she did. If you are picky about pearls, I suggest you email her prior to purchasing something to make sure of the quality you're getting. She did tell me that the pearl strand I ordered was not their top of the line, but I could not tell because I was going by the photos, and the photos were generic photos and all the pearls looked good. I will still order from her, but I will always ask questions first. She does have some great priced items and is quick to respond to email.

Katalin, I like bumpy gssps! They just seem to have so much more character.

Hanadama, the seeds arrived! As soon as I can, Im going to post photos! At first look Im satisfied, I'm just really afraid, because the 2-2.5 mm ones are really small! I'm not sure anymore, that I can use them for my tassel project!

Katalin, I'm looking forward to seeing the seed pearls! I need to find a source for small ones that I can use for weaving/braiding, but so far everything is either too big or too pricey.

You'll have a problem finding cheap tiny real pearls. Would you want to drill and string 2mm pearls for a few pence?

So, altogether I'm satisfied as I wrote already. I haven't measured yet, but I'll do it tomorrow. My pictures from today afternoon are not good, I only have one good picture from the 5 mm pearls

The other pictures I've made with a camera app with macro option, but they are too dark, so tomorrow I have to make new ones. Sorry for that!

Lady Disfain - May I ask you where you have found so cheap seed pearls?

Katalin the seed pearls look pretty! Looking forward to seeing your completed project!
