I m buying my first pearl stud earrings and I m not sure about what I should buy.
I need something that would be durable and wear-proof :) never owned pearls before and I want this ones to last for a long time since they will be my graduation gift.
I m blonde, 5'6 tall and skinny, I love the look of south sea pearl earring I ve found on this forum that Angelina Jolie wear but the price of that big SS pearls is nit affordable to my budget at this moment.
I would wear the, daily, is 10mm too big for daily wear?
In most post I ve read freshadama pearls are highly suggested, are they durable and good choice for every day wear?
Thank you

Hi placebo and welcome,

Sorry we have missed answering your post until now, but sounds like pearl earrings would be a perfect graduation gift for you! Yes, go for freshadama pearls, or AAA, in 10mm would be a nice size. Sometimes using a larger earring back will make a big earring sit more comfortably and not tip forward. Those (cultured freshwater) earrings would be all nacre, so a great choice for every day wear.

I'd say 10mm is fine for daily wear but it depends on your personal style, it is on the bigger side but not huge. If SS pearls aren't in the budget, 9-10mm gem grade freshwater pearls can be had for under $200. Freshwater pearls being pure nacre, rate very high on the durability scale.

Thank everyone, it s hard to start learning and lust this hard to buy first pair asap :D

I was researching and what do you think about freshadama line from PP?
Also, are tiffany studs better quality or it is only name that makes price higher.

I m undecided between 9-10mm and 8-9mm, my aunt thinks that if they are too big they will look fake - what is your opinion?
I m selfconcious about my earlobes that are not skinny and I think that bigger studs will make them look smaller :D

What special care is requested to deal with pearls?
Are freshwater pearls more durable than saltwaters?
