Hello,

I'm new to these forums, but I'm on a massive search for a queen conch pearl for my engagement ring. I'm looking for a 2-4 ct single pearl with a flame. From what I'm finding it's very hard to find a natural pearl that hasn't been perviously used in a jewelry setting. If anyone has suggestions on what dealers might have what I'm looking for or any other ideas please help me out.

Thanks!

are you from germany that your name is germangirl ? :) there are around 3 or 4 people i know to sell conch in germany, member cees has a lot of around 50 pieces 1 - 3 ct size in holland so also quite easy to get to germany

if you buy from overseas make sure they don't write conch pearl on the package we had quite some trouble in the past with international customs and conch pearls

While a queen conch pearl with flame for your engagement ring sounds absolutely amazing, please be aware that conch pearls fade in sunlight. It is recommended that they are mounted in jewelry that is only worn at night or for special occasions. If you plan on wearing your engagement ring 24 hours a day and in sunlight, then be prepared for the pearl to lose its beautiful color.

P-G member Cees spoken of by dmj is Cees Van Oije, and his company is Amsterdam Pearls.
Contact information is in the header here: http://www.amsterdampearls.com/education.html

I bought my golden south sea pearls from Cees and am happy to recommend him. (I didn't know he sold conch pearls, though!)

I've also seen an interview of Sarah of Kojima where she has a lot of natural pearls and they all come from fishermen who collected them naturally. She only has a small portion of her stock listed online so it is best to contact her directly. http://www.kojimapearl.com/

Dave of Lagoon Island Pearls also has natural pearls, not sure about conch in specific.

Wow BWeaves I didn't know that - good to know (if one day I would be so lucky to own a conch pearl)!

BWeaves is right. Even the shells fade! We had a huge queen conch shell on display for years and the pink faded dramatically.
