Hi. This is my first post on the forum.
Last weekend I was in Doha and visited their museums. The pearl exhibit at the National Museum is magnificent.
The most stunning of course will be the carpet of the Maharaja of Baroda. 1.5 million natural pearls from 1 to 4 mm (approximately 30 thousand carats)

The history of natural pearl harvesting is very interestingly presented. A very interesting video accompanies the entire exhibition. models of pearl lugers
Pearl traders' tools and samples of various natural pearls are also on display.

The Museum of Islamic Art. This museum has a very interesting exhibit: a caftan from India embroidered with small natural pearls.

I couldn't stop looking at his patterns for probably more than an hour.

WOWZA! I've only seen postage stamp size, black and white photos of the Baroda pearl rug before. WOW, thank you for the great photos. I also have a weakness for tiaras. I'm not sure I could have been removed from that museum. I would have been glued to the spot for hours.
