Pearl clasp

I'm trying to get hold about a hinged clasp used for pearl neckles, also called Pearl shortner, and also called Applaudere by A-Z. I got hold of them on 47 St. In NEW YORK, but i'm sure some one would know to get them some where alse for cheaper.
AAlso i would like to know the exect name for it, so i could search online for it.
Could any one help!

People just call it a shortener, at least the jewelers I've been to. here's one at PP.

if you google "pearl shortener" you get a gazillion hits.

How do those pearl shorteners that look like safety pins work? I can't figure it out and after all these years, I'm finally asking!
