Natural brown and "chocolate' tahitian pearls

Thanks. Now I know what to ask for when I'm shopping. Are they very uncommon or will I be able to get some without too much hunting?

It ain't mine...we have never produced such a large pearl...unless that hand there on the photo belongs to a hobbit ;)

Largest size we've produced was (once...sigh!) is 16x14 mm (drop shaped).

All this has totally inspired me to purchase a Sea of Cortez pearl. It's silver with lavendar/pink overtones. 8.8 to 9.2mm I think. Just a little guy. Not here yet. Definitely not brown.
I can't wait.

This was a wonderful post that led to the purchase of a Sea of Cortez pearl (from Carolyn) that is just yummy. It looks lavendar with silver and pink overtones. The goal is to make a pendant out of it. There may even be pics someday.

Congratulations! Be sure to post some pix!

Back to the original photo in the thread. a virtual design! I would like to know what the pearl would be and what size. What a way to design.
