Mikimoto?

I purchased these earrings and the backs have been replaced obviously by a good jeweler. The back are marked 14k and the earrings test slightly under 18k. The only mark I can find is a small M on one. The pearls are extremely lovely with exceptional lusture and whitest white. A jeweler I took them to said he thought the were Mikimoto. Just thought I'd ask the people here what your thoughts are.

Hello LauraSeel7 and welcome to our Pearl Loving forum
I don't know about the rest of you...but the jewelry pieces don't give me a Mikimoto vibe, nor do the pearls...to me they look like good quality Chinese freshwater pearls.
But it is not that easy to tell from the photos.
