Hello Experts!

I’m currently in El Nido, Palawan and spending some time learning more about South Sea pearls here on the ground.

I’m looking to connect with reputable South Sea pearl farms or trusted/authorized sellers in Palawan and hopefully build a long-term relationship. I’m interested in high-quality pearls (white / golden / black) with strong luster, good nacre, clean surfaces, and proper documentation — not chasing marketing labels, just real quality.

I’m around and happy to meet in person or visit a farm if possible. If anyone here has recommendations, contacts, or advice on who’s worth reaching out to in Palawan, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot!
Alex

Hi Alex,
Jewelmer is one of the largest gold South Sea pearl producers in the world and farms on Palawan. They do accept visitors to their Flower Island resort - Flower Island Resort in Palawan (https://www.flowerislandresort.com/). Jewelmer does sell direct in the Philippines, but through their own retail boutiques.

But if you're looking to start a business relationship, you're in the wrong country. The pearl traders in the Philippines, which includes basically everyone at Greenhills Market, source their pearls primarily from Hong Kong and China. When you speak with them, they will talk about sourcing from pearl farms on Mindanao and other parts of the Philippines, but none of that is true. The black pearls come from French Polyenesia, the white freshwater from China and the white South Sea from Indonesia and Australia.
