Dodgy advert? From Saks Fifth Avenue

Scarily misleading - and it reflects badly on a world-known brand (Saks)
Time for someone over there to have a conversation with them?

As consumer we have to do our homework and pay attention to details. I think "cultured pearls" are the key words. Genuine cultured pearls are described as such for other items, for example from the links below:

http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...sid=13625DCAC851&Ntt=pearls&N=0&bmUID=joxVtpB

The faux ones' descriptions do not have bullets describing the pearls like here:

http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...5DCAC851&Ntt=pearls&N=306418050&bmUID=joxV.jq

You can search the word "pearls" on their website, and sort pricing from low to high. You'll be able to see many "Tahitian" pearl items are very pricey. That may alert you to something that you may have missed.

I still think it's a dodgy advert. Yes, there are some clues, but at a high-end shop, you shouldn't be looking for clues. You should be told.

I agree with Amanda...customers should not have to deconstruct an advert or listing word by word. Most people looking at that would not have a clue that they were fakes, they would think, oh those are nice, I wonder why some tahtians are so much more expensive, those sellers must be rip off merchants '

well, maybe 6 of one and half a dozen of the other....

I think the price gives it away -?180, the real thing would be what, 7-8K in a dept.store

But I agree it would be better if they said 'stunning costume jewellry' or something like that

on that basis, they would actually be quite fun - maybe even worth ?180.......
