Could be tiny pearls, but of no commercial value.

I do love pink shells. I have several pink heelsplitter shells. There are others.

Looks like it could be a natural blister pearl made from a drilling worm (which is rare amongst pearly mussels).
So, my guess is that the mussel once had small rice-krispy pearls and that a few were released from their pearl sacs, they ended up against the shell and were covered with nacre.
An x-ray would let you know if this is the case.
