Help, what are these pearls? These are vintage from 1950's - 1960's (by the clasp) and I am guessing they are akoyas...but they look strange. There are no knots, but these are lightly gritty. Thanks

I think all my other "Mabes" are actually Button pearls and they are gritty. I can't tell about these. The bottom of these are shell, but the top is NOT gritty and wierdly uniform. (There is some variation at the bottoms.). Are Mabe pearls gritty? (I would think so, even Tahitians are lightly...

I just got this lot of vintage Deltah cultured pearls (guessing the 1940-50's) and would love the best ideas to arrange them. There are 52 pearls, but several are less than 2mm!

They are on an Artisan 14k square bar, about 10mm and the color/luster gives me Tahitian vibes, but I don't know. Is it Tahitian or not? I am sorry they are so pixelated...my phone..sigh.

I found these vintage pearl necklace for very little, when I got them home to restring & knot, I looked at the clasp, I noticed the M with the shell around it. I have a Mikimoto brooch and recognized the mark. But the there are so few knots...is it really a Mikimoto? It is vintage. Why so...

This seems bigger than many pearls I have, could it be a salt water pearl? Would it be a southsea pearl? Or freshwater?
