Are you able to take some more photos, in different light perhaps? If you can wear something neutral and avoid reflecting anything colorful that might help too. (My front door is red and anything I photograph near it catches red reflections-- that, and the green of the grass in our front yard!)

If it's domed on both sides with just a bezel, maybe it's a polished piece of labradorite?

Or is the surface reflecting the OP's clothing-- or outdoor sky and trees near a window?

The first item, I think the brooch is akoyas but am not sure about the necklace. Photos aren't clear enough. I'd pass. The 2nd item, akoyas but smaller pearls are worn out/barrel shaped. I'd pass.

What a lovely necklace to inherit! It looks like baroque cultured akoya pearls. If you want to wear it, I would definitely have it restrung first. Silk becomes weak over time and can break, which could lead to the loss of a pearl. Given that this is a 3 strand necklace that would be a real...

Was the light patch disclosed before you bought it?

If it doesn't feel different than the rest of the surface, nacre did not come off there. Tahitian pearl nacre is thick. I've never seen anything like that. If these are pearls you just bought, consider returning them.

That first photo...could be naturally occurring blemishes. But the 2nd photo looks like there is something lying atop the pearl. A bit of tissue maybe? Moisten it and see if it wipes off.
