Was the light patch disclosed before you bought it?

If it doesn't feel different than the rest of the surface, nacre did not come off there. Tahitian pearl nacre is thick. I've never seen anything like that. If these are pearls you just bought, consider returning them.

That first photo...could be naturally occurring blemishes. But the 2nd photo looks like there is something lying atop the pearl. A bit of tissue maybe? Moisten it and see if it wipes off.

I had a large silver lobster claw and used 22 gauge Argentium wire to make the other part of the clasp. I think if I ever need to restring them again, I'll use beading wire and silicone bumpers. I found I had to make knots of different sizes to compensate for how concave some of the pearls were...

The clasp broke the last time I took these lavender FWP off, so I had to restring them. I took the opportunity to rearrange them. I used "Baby" Serafil 30#.

In what venue? At a show, perhaps that much. But if you are planning to sell them on eBay, first do a search for what similar rings sold for recently. EBay is flooded with inexpensive jewelry and much of the difficulty is getting anyone to even look at your listings. And if other sellers'...

They appear to be imitations. See the pearl that has a bit of excess swirly coating near the drill hole? That is typical of fakes.
