You may consider getting on email lists for announcement of sales. Discounts of 15-20% off are not unusual, especially with holidays approaching. Then you could get a larger pearl for less.

For a pendant? Sacrifice size, no question. Pearls are all about luster and as this will be a stand-alone pearl, you will want it to look fabulous. BTW many have noted that high luster makes a pearl look larger, and I agree. Especially a white pearl.

I think #3 and #4 are the same necklace. #1 seems to have a jump ring. And of course #2 are loose pearls.

The first photo pearls appear to be imitation but I'd like to see them spread out to judge them better. Second photo, can you take the photo again from a different angle? One of those pearls seems to have the kind of divot we see in real pearls. Photos 3 and 4, freshwaters.

That built up coating around the drill holes is often found in imitation pearls. The surface, magnified, also look imitation.

I felt like putting this necklace on today. These are the 6.2-9.0 mm akoyas I found at a local consignment shop a few years back. The nacre is thick and the clasp is 14K with 3 little diamonds. The necklace is 18" long. These were grubby and needed restringing, so they were bargain priced...

That helps a lot. I will go with akoyas now based on those photos. They are not all fully round but that happens with akoyas, and I see one in your second photo that looks a bit like one of my more gnarly baroque akoyas. I would clean them and restring them.

I'm in the process of trying to get 18K cups off my gray Majorica studs. So far I have not gotten the cups to loosen even a bit, not after soaking in boiling water 3 minutes and not after microwaving on high in the same boiling water for 3 more minutes. The pearl is also unaffected. I'll leave...
