Thought they were real until one peeled!

Thought these were real (clasp marked 14k) until today when one peeled (the much lighter one)… can someone please tell me what these are? Glass? Thank you in advance for any help

Well that's disappointing!
Most imitation pearls that feel heavy like real pearls are glass. Very cheap lightweight ones are plastic.
The clasp may not be real gold either.

Instead of rubbing them on your teeth you can feel of its smooth or resistant by rubbing two against each other usually indicating glass if smooth

You have great photos!!!! Near the biggest pearl, you can see that there is some paint build up around the "drill" holes. I will bet if you look at the surface with your phone 10X...you will see what looks like spray paint. Often those vintage glass pearls do have really gold clasps and tend to be from the US...so that might be worth saving to restring real pearls on to...akoya pearls would be lovely. If you get one with a plain sterling...you could restring these too on the sterling and white gold on the akoya pearls. Super easy with the bead cups!
