Yes, this came as a surprise to me! For some reason I thought it would be 8mm at their largest dimension, but turns out it's the other way around.

Hmm, I was actually just wondering why - she has plenty of other jewelry, so it could be that she just never liked pearls?.. But at the same time she has complimented me several times on a CC strand of keshis, and even pointed them out to a friend at Thanksgiving. And she is not one to do that...

I am no pro (by far!), but I think you should definitely go with the size you feel most comfortable in. I'm a huge fan of smaller pearls myself - I think they are very feminine and pretty, especially if your style is on the delicate side. Lisa, I think this might be the post you are referring...

First of all, I have to admit that I might have a CC addiction. In less than two months I've made my third purchase! Although the third set isn't for me, so that doesn't count, right? And the second one was a birthday gift, so maybe that doesn't really count either. I just purchased this...

Ah, size was the easy one! The real struggle for me is overtone and length... Oh PP, why can't you have a showroom nearby.

I know that typically the advice is to go with the larger size, so it can "grow" with you. But in my case I just really didn't enjoy the look of the larger size pearls on me, so I figure I might as well get what I like now and then buy a different strand if and when my tastes change...

This is SO incredibly helpful, thank you so much Pearl Dreams! Actually the difference between 6.5 and 7mm seems so small that maybe I should just stick with the existing size range and not bother PP with any extra labor.
