Thank you, eolian, SurfnSci, and echo! Yes, echo, the bigger pearls are metallic freshwater pearls. I am attaching an old pic that better shows their colors. My pics have been so dark all fall and winter because the sky has been so drab in the early morning hours when I have time to take some pics....

Echo, I hope your earring remakes are all that you’d hoped for!

Wearing my feather pearls extended, with my Kojima seashell pendant. I made the scatter tin cup and mixed strand. The tiny brownish pearls are natural, wild Sea of Cortez.

Thanks so much, everyone! You are all so nice! Pearl friends are the best!

PearlyWhites, that’s a wonderful pair of faceted Tahitians! Echo, that is such a unique chain on your bracelet, and I do love those earrings that you had made. The petals fit your lobe so perfectly....

Thank you, Charlotta, echo and Douglas! Thank you, Charlotta, I think I will keep them at this length because it lays nicely. Echo, sister pearls forever!! You probably found the information if you googled, but there is some information on the Pacific Pearls US website.

    I was playing with...

Thanks everyone! You are all so kind! I am enjoying all the nostalgia. Happy memories indeed, Cathy. And how sweet she wore it for her wedding!

Echo! What a huge relief your strand arrived. It looks so beautiful on you and I’m so happy we have sister strands. Those Aussie Akoya!...

Thank you so much, SurfnSci and echo! Yes, the little Akoya is more of a sentimental pearl, and I remember the experience even though I was only about 6. And thank you for the nice compliments! I say this about so many of my pearls that it gets obnoxious, but the blue Tahitians are so special. The story...

Thank you, eolian! Your post must’ve snuck in while I was trying to upload the pictures this morning. Your first draft turned out terrific! Bracelets make such a great stopover on the way to becoming strands... or not.

Blue Tahitian strand from Collins Pearls, blue Tahitian studs...

Thank YOU, Douglas! This really was a walk down memory lane. I am surprised I still have this too, although the shell is part of the package picture. I only have the little Akoya. I guess this would be considered vintage now because I am old! The idea of it all was probably the precursor to those...

Thank you Charlotta and SurfnSci! SurfnSci, you’ve come a long way from fishing wire and dyed potato pearls! And Douglas, you’ve come a long way from pearling with your Oma! I actually saw the ama divers even before the trip to Mikimoto Island. I was about six, and I still have the little...

I certainly hope for a better ending and those people were being honest, echo! That is soooo disappointing.

Eolian and Douglas, I had the opposite experience with Akoya. They were always around me growing up. The older generations all had the classic strands and most of them wore brooches...

Oh my goodness, echo! I am so sorry to hear about your package! I was a little worried about mine, too, because something had been transposed on the address, but fortunately it made it. I hold my breath with packages these days because I had some pearls tour the country this fall, then they went missing....

Thanks so much, Douglas, Charlotta and echo! Echo, I hope you love your new strand! I think it’s very light and pretty. I was in debate whether to make a short length and bracelet out of it, or to leave it alone. As to the Grace Pearl Edison, it’s hard to know. All I can say is, I have three...

Thank you, Douglas, Charlotta, SurfnSci, and BWeaves! SurfnSci! What a gorgeous set of blue Akoya! I had the same thought as Charlotta when I saw your bracelet- why haven't I made a blue Akoya bracelet yet?! I don’t think I have enough left for a full bracelet, though. Yours is absolutely beautiful!...

Thank you, Charlotta and eolian. Charlotta, I also love the tulips with the fluffy centers. Eolian, a glorious glisten from the sea and your Akoya studs!

A carved Tahitian pendant on a vintage Akoya keshi strand, worn with strands of vintage untreated coral, all from Kojima.

Thank you, Douglas, SurfnSci, and eolian! I agree, Douglas, Sarah has such a great eye for pearls and designs. As you can see, I am a big fan of Kojima pieces.

SurfnSci, those are such lovely golden pieces! I love that bracelet combo on a sunny day or to brighten a dreary day. It all works...

Thank you, SurfnSci, Charlotta and eolian! I agree with having rings just to stare at! Eolian, a trip to Polynesia, to choose your pearls in person would be fabulous! Plus the scenery! Ahhhh...
