Matching an existing strand of Black Akoyas to make a double strand?

Very strange, I can see the two photos of the necklace, and later the photo of DK"s darling new SS pearl....................

Strange, as I can see the photos, and I am at work at present!

For those who can see pics ...

For those who can see pics ...

... here you go, my design for the little chick pendant :D

picture.php

If money is no object, all the white bits will be pave diamond, plus a pave diamond enhancer bail :D

I'll settle for polished white gold, except for the wing that needs to be pave diamond to give the little chap a bit of sparkle :D

Eye is a bezel-set ruby :)

It looks really cute to me, and I am bias :D

DK :D

SWEET! I'm not a diamond person, but if you gotta, pave is the way to go!
What fun to design your own! Seems very doable too..

How cute! Paspaley had a lovely hummingbird pin with white gold and diamonds that had a body just like yours.

Here is mine, from Care Ehret. You can see the Tucson thread here:

Thanks! :D

I saw the one Carolyn has, and had contacted her about making mine into a pendant, however, she said no for two reasons, no time for custom work, and she only work with high carat yellow gold :(

Nevermind :(

I am still making enquires, and have not given up yet ;)

No diamonds???!!!

I love diamonds :D

I *think* it is doable, however, some may consider a bit OTT for a pearl that is less than 28 USD, bargain!!! :D

It is 17.04mm x 13.10mm x 11.57mm, so the pendant should be substantial enough for my fat neck! :D

Matching Black Akoya for Double Strand

Matching Black Akoya for Double Strand

Hi DK!

In case you haven't yet found a solution concerning your black Akoya, I would suggest selecting one of the pearl dealers you are most familiar with on this forum and arrange to send in your existing necklace so that they can select a matching strand from their inventory. Right now, all of us are stocked up for Christmas and will have a very large inventory to pick from in order to best match your necklace. Most would probably do the stringing for free for you.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks for looking into this for me.

I have re-strung the black and white akoyas as a strand of double, which IMHO works very well.

Therefore, I am no longer looking to match the strand anymore.

Thanks again for your help :)

black and white double strand

black and white double strand

black and white double strand? That is a great idea! I had thought of offering a necklace with alternating black/white colors, but not of trying a white/black multi-strand combo... I bet you get a lot of compliments! :)
