Hello Ms gelliot - I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother, I hope you are comforted by her blessed memory. You are fortunate to have inherited things of hers to remind you of her and the times you have shared. I make a point of telling my daughter which of my things I have inherited and from whom. Since she may not remember, I think I may make a log of some sort, either a photo catalog with a little blurb for each item, or maybe just a little hang tag to keep with each item to say for example, so-and-so's wedding ring, etc. with a date if I can figure that out.
Your baroque pearls are pretty, with a lovely lustre and color. I can't tell how long the strand is, probably longish because you have to put it over your head. This would look great as is, but also knotted (if long enough.) They can be worn with casual clothing like a knit top and jeans and nice shoes and belt and it elevates the whole look. You can wear simple pearl studs with this or gold or white gold or silver stud earrings.
Or wear them with anything you loke. Have fun, and enjoy!
