$34.99 6-7mm Akoya Pearl Necklace

Hi Karen,

I assume that "akoya white" is now an official eBay color designation akin to "Tahitian black." If one similarly assumes that "diamond chip clasp" means a clasp that looks like it may have diamond chips in it or one that incorporates chips of I3 diamonds in steel, this may even be an accurate description. AA, of course, refers to the fact that these have been rejected as giveaways by the Alcoholics Anonymous.

Hi Jeremy,

I assume that "Japanese akoya pink" a somewhat different color from "Chinese akoya pink." I wonder why we don't have "Tahitian peach" on eBay yet. The main problem appears to be the Mystique (only genuine with the capital M) value of PPBs. I am always amazed how many people believe marine PPBs to be superior to freshwater cultured pearls and just look for key words like "akoya" and "Tahitian."

Oops, I guess I have to take that back. The first Tahitian peach just popped up on eBay as I was writing the above: http://cgi.ebay.com/TAHITIAN-6-7MM-...ryZ43084QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Now, Zeide, they are only claiming that they are Tahitian "qualety" pearls (with smooth "serface"!).
