Big Honking Pearls

My new "Biggies" arrived today ;) Was only able to take a couple of pictures before it started raining outside. All pearls from Pearl Paradise. The Edisons will be a fun strand to wear. I am very happy with it.

From the bottom white south sea 12.5mm, Edison 16.1, Tahitian 14.9

White south sea, Edison, and first group of white metallic 8.5mm strong pink overtones bought at a ruckus several summers ago. I'm surprised at how pink the metallics look in the picture because when I have them on they look really white. I can see a few drops of rain on a couple of the pearls in this picture.

I needed my sun glasses to view your lovely pearls....like little rays of sunshine, even with the rain! Those south sea pearls are outstanding, and of course the others as well. I really like the look of them layered in threes. I wish someone mad some sort of adjustable clasp that you can change a strand's length to wear as a triple or double so the pearls nest nicely like they do on the table.

Oooo, thank you for the comparison shots. That's really helpful for those of us who are 3000 miles away from the store.

Question: Now that we've had a good look at them, how do the Edisons "feel" compared the SS and big Tahitians. By that, I mean, if you hold them in your hand, do they feel smoother, rougher, weightier, lighter, silkier, etc. I guess I'm asking about stroking them, weighing them in your hand, tactile sensations.

How are you guys wearing these biggies? I think I should wear them with jeans, because I'm pretty sure everyone will think they're fake anyway...

To me they just feel like pearls all about the same. If they are bigger they weigh more than the smaller strands. I'll bring them with me this summer and we can play a game. You close you eyes and I'll put each strand in your hands one at a time and see if you can tell them apart.

Today I had them on with my light denim jeans and jacket. Not a very good picture of the pearls to post. Hopefully I'll have a better neck shot to post soon. I typically dress very casually but no matter how casual I am I have my pearls on. They can be goldens, White ss or lots of Tahitians or even any of my akoyas it just doesn't matter. I don't save the "good" ones for special occasions because they are all "good" pearls and few and far between special occasions so I would never get a chance to wear them.
