Thoughts on these baroque silver akoyas...strange colors or thin nacre??

I liked the look of these baroque akoyas I stumbled upon on etsy, so I bought them and they arrived yesterday. The colors seem a bit strange to me, they have some silver-blue coloring (which I expected), but some of the pearls are spotted or marbled or two-toned, and I'm wondering if akoyas come dual-colored like this, or if the nacre is just thin and the cream colored areas are bead showing through? thoughts? They weren't that expensive, but they were a lot of money for me, and more than I would like to throw away on pearls that I won't be able to get much wear out of.

I think they look like they were dyed. And that the nacre is quite thin in places.

Those are serious nacre issues that you are seeing. They are not going to last very long at all. If it was a lot of money and you have the ability to, I would suggest sending them back.

Hi Blossy, One way to check nacre depth is to look into the drill hole. You can often see where the nucleus stops and nacre begins.

Hi maiakity, I think your pearls are natural in color, but as Jeremy said, the nacre is very sad and thin. Hope you can get your money back!

I've seen undyed akoya like that too. I passed them on to someone who liked the look better and bought naturally blue akoya from PP.
