Actually I soaked the dirty stick pin in water and it came clean and shiny. I haven't rephotoed it yet. The 2nd stickpin I put a really low bid in less than $12 and I won it. The reaindeer is another cheapie from pugster and one day I saw the dog/wolf on ebay ad bought it. It is huge and I have never worn it though I love it.

I also have a 1/4th teaspoon of some of Antz's tiniest abolone pearls. I have no clue how to get them drilled. They vary from .5mm to .9mm. They are packed away for the nonce.

Hi Kizzy,

This may be somewhat counterproductive as you are considering one of our pearls and our settings, but a Sea of Cortez pearl might be a good choice for you. It is so much more rare, can look very similar to a Tahitian, but it would be much more durable as the average nacre thickness on those pearls is double that of a Tahitian pearl.

Hi Kizzy - what a seach you are on !

have a look at these ?

looking forward to hearing what you finally decided on

Oh wow oh wee, what a treat this thread is.

Caitlin, thank you for showing your assorted treasures. $12 for the pin, sigh, got to go scrounging more often around ebay. I'm there often enough just not scouring all the nooks and cranies. I like the reindeer and wolf, the latter looks most interesting with his abalone belly. As for Anthony's pearls, yeah, still similarly wondering what to do with mine.

Alex, your post on trigems produced a gasp from me. I'm scampering over there now; I think a second gasp will be emitted once I preview the prices. But so stunning and befitting for an engagement ring.
