Knitting with pearls

What an amazing shawl...and to incorporate pearls into the design is just breathtaking! I thought pearl stringing was one of life's challenges but Addy's shawl takes 'pearl stringing' to a whole new level. I'm in complete awe.

You know, I am a self-taught knitter. I used just the internet, Youtube, knittinghelp.com and Ravelry. I am more of a visual person, I like to watch how something is done.
I used these links to learn how to knit, purl and cast on to begin on. Then how to increase, decrease, etc.

I hope this helps:)

Addy, thank you kindly for all the knitting links. I have tried knitting once before (in high school) and was only able to get as far as the single roll of yarn would get me - I just didn't know what to do next. It will take me some courage to pick up a set of needles again. It's the design part that has me stumped. I would only be able to knit in a straight line.

I have to admit, I taught myself how to knot pearls from YouTube and the school of hard knocks. I'm not much good with instructional books and there are no crafty people in my family other than me attempting to be.

Have a nice day!

Addy, that shawl is truly beautiful! It has inspired me to consider trying pearls in my knitting as well.
