Vintage '70's Brutalist Neckpiece

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally just love huge statement pieces, and brutalist/modern at that. This is just FAB! The pearls mix surprisingly well with this style I think..... by Israeli artist Rachel Gera in the early 1970's. It says the pearls are around 9.5mm. Would they have been cultured Akoyas at that size? South Sea?.....

What a great piece; in some pics the pearls look baroque and richly golden, so interesting! Love the back side also.

I really like seeing pearls "done" in something other than "twee cardie lunch at the country club" way, you know? (hope that doesn't offend anyone! I'd love to belong to a country club myself! Lol). Just cool to see them in a different light....... I've noticed a lot of funky pearl jewelry around lately actually. I think they're really coming in style......
